CADEV Niger Staff Capacity Building on Niger Taxation: Focus on the 2026 General Tax Code (CGI) and the 2026 Finance Act

As part of the implementation of the Support Programme for the Resilience of Affected Communities in Niger (PARCAN 2026), CADEV Niger organized a training session on Niger taxation on 3 and 4 June 2026, focused on the innovations introduced by the 2026 Finance Act and the new 2026 General Tax Code (CGI).

This training, intended for accountants, project managers and staff involved in the administrative and financial management of CADEV Niger’s programmes, is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen institutional capacity and improve the organization’s tax compliance.

Led by the CGP Niger firm, through its Director Mr. Djibrilla Ibrahima, and Mr. Sanda Mahamadou, Auditor at the Directorate-General of Taxes (DGI), the session enabled participants to deepen their knowledge of the general principles of Niger taxation, the new provisions of the 2026 CGI, as well as the practical implications of the 2026 Finance Act for non-profit organizations.

Over the two days of training, several key topics were addressed, including:

General principles of taxation and Niger’s tax system;

The main innovations introduced by the 2026 CGI;

The new tax measures contained in the 2026 Finance Act;

Tax obligations applicable to development organizations and associations;

Best practices in tax management and compliance.

The rich and interactive exchanges between the trainers and participants fostered a better understanding of the ongoing tax reforms and their impact on the management of the organization’s projects and resources.

At the end of the training, participants expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the presentations, the relevance of the topics covered, and the answers provided to the practical concerns encountered in the course of their duties.

Through this initiative, CADEV Niger reaffirms its commitment to continuously strengthening its staff’s skills in order to ensure management that is transparent, effective and compliant with current legal and tax requirements.
