Safeguarding Training: 46 Women PARCAN Beneficiaries Strengthen Their Capacities in Niamey

As part of the implementation of the PARCAN – 2026 programme, CADEV Niger organized a training session on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults from 19 to 20 May 2026 at Salle Guy Romano, for 46 women who are beneficiaries of the programme.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge in order to promote humanitarian interventions that are safer, more inclusive and more respectful of beneficiaries’ rights.

Participants were made up of twenty-two (22) women from the “Mamans Lumière” group and twenty-four (24) women from CECI groups (Internal Savings and Credit Fund), all beneficiaries of the PARCAN – 2026 programme’s activities.

Over the two days of work, several key topics were addressed, including safeguarding in a context of insecurity, the protection of children and vulnerable adults, mechanisms for preventing and managing gender-based violence, inclusion and equity in humanitarian interventions, as well as the protection of beneficiaries’ personal data.

The discussions also provided an opportunity to update participants on complaint-handling mechanisms, in order to ensure a safer and more respectful environment for the communities supported by the programme.

Through this initiative, CADEV Niger reaffirms its commitment to promoting humanitarian assistance centred on human dignity, the protection of vulnerable people, and respect for safeguarding principles in all of its interventions in Niger.
