An unforgettable day for peace and social cohesion in Ayorou!

This memorable day brought together every part of the community to celebrate unity, diversity and social cohesion through a series of activities full of emotion. The event also benefited from the honorable participation of local authorities, notably the prefect of Ayorou, the town's deputy administrator, the canton chief, traditional chiefs, as well as decentralized government services. In their remarks, the authorities, while urging the population to remain vigilant in preserving what is most precious to us — "PEACE" — warmly thanked CADEV-Niger, through the Niamey diocesan office team and the CSD, for their invaluable and unwavering commitment alongside the people of Ayorou since 2012. The Program to Support the Resilience of the Communities of Ayorou and Niamey (PARCAN), run by CADEV-Niger's Niamey diocesan office with the financial support of Caritas Denmark, supports vulnerable households through their economic empowerment. It is through its social cohesion component that this activity was organized.

Our talented local artists used theater to convey powerful messages about tolerance, respect and the importance of living together.

💃 Traditional dance competition:

The traditional dances delighted the audience, blending energy, creativity and cultural expression while celebrating local diversity.

🍲 Culinary competition:

The flavors of our culinary heritage took center stage. Participants presented delicious traditional dishes reflecting the identity and stories of our communities.

⚽ Football match:

To close out this exceptional day, an exciting football match brought communities together in a spirit of conviviality and fair play. This moment of fraternity perfectly symbolizes the goal of this event: strengthening ties between the different communities.
