The CADEV Niger 2025 General Assembly: a high point of communion, review and renewed commitment

On Thursday, 30 October 2025, the Caritas Développement Niger (CADEV Niger) opened its General Assembly under the chairmanship of Mgr Laurent Lompo, Archbishop of Niamey and President of CADEV Niger.
The event was held in the presence of Mgr Ignatius Anipu, Bishop of Maradi, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, officials from national and diocesan structures, partner guests such as the CRS Country Representative, the representative of Caritas Denmark, the Italian NGO CISV, JEA-Niger, the national coordinator of CDIR-Niger, as well as volunteer delegates from Solidarity and Development Committees (CSD) from across the country.

A time for reflection and institutional renewal

Ahead of this General Assembly, the Board of Directors met, followed by a day of reflection devoted to revitalizing the Solidarity and Development Committees. These fruitful exchanges made it possible to revisit CADEV's three years of action, draw lessons from them, and chart new directions to strengthen the organization's impact in serving the most vulnerable.

20 years of solidarity: an anniversary marked by a gift of life

This General Assembly took on special significance, coinciding with CADEV Niger's 20th anniversary.
To mark this symbolic occasion, staff and volunteers made a powerful gesture of solidarity: a blood drive organized in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS).
Through this action, CADEV wanted to give concrete expression to its mission of love, charity and service to life. This blood donation symbolizes the deep commitment of all CADEV's actors to giving what they hold most precious to those who need it.

A renewed commitment to the future

At the close of the proceedings, participants left with the firm conviction to pursue, with even greater determination, their commitment to raising CADEV Niger's profile and promoting solidarity, peace and integral human development.
The 2025 General Assembly will thus remain an important milestone in CADEV's institutional life, marked by faith, hope and love in action.
